Julen Rubio grew up surrounded by mainsprings, cases, hands and wheels. It didin´t take long for him to become familiar with all those "toys". So it is that nowadays he is considered one of the best experts in watch repairing in Spain.

TWA: Tell us about Serviwatch, what services do you provide? For which brands?
J.R: We repair quartz watches, quartz chrono mechanical, mechanical complication, mechanical chronograph complication, besides complete revisions, maintenance, custom settings, cases, machines...
Our official technical service provides assistance in Spain, to the leading brands in this sector such as:
ARNOL&SON, AZIMUTH, BALL, CATAMARAN, CONSUL, GIRARD-PERREGAUX, GRAHAM JEANRICHARD, MONDAINE, ROAMER.
TWA: Have you always been passionate about watches Where do you think the interest came to become passion?? Where do you think this passion comes from?
J.R:Since I was a Little kid I´ve always seen my dad working on watches, which It really caught my attention. When I was 10 I already “helped” my dad fixing video game casio watches and little by little, what was just a game for me, turned to be my job.
TWA: In this very moment, looking backwards, do you think you could have worked in anything else?
J.R: I love my job and I wouldn’t change it for anything. It gives me satisfaction, I continue learning, and what´s most important, I really enjoy and love a good work
TWA: What were the greatest challenges you faced when conceiving and realising these pieces? How did you overcome them?
J.R: In this profession every day is a new challenge because you don´t know which kind of watch you will end in your hands. Of course tourbillions, Rattrapante chronographs and pieces with a lot a complitations requiere a lot of work, dedication and a big effort.
TWA: Throughout your career, wich moment fullfilled you with honour and satisfaction?
J.R : Representing top brands and the trust every client has on us
TWA: Regarding to your wise experience, where is the watch industry leading to?
The watch industry has been moving forward really fast. Nowadays brands get specialized in new technologies and more precise methodologies. They also bet on a faster and efficient after-sale service as in our company.
TWA: According to your opinion, which usefull tips would you provide to someone who is about to buy a watch?
J.R: There is a huge variety in the world of watches. To choose the apropiate brand they should check different issues like the case, automatic or quartz, sport or classic, but overall, the clients taste.
TWA: Taking into account the vast variety in the watch world, could you choose your three favorite timepieces?
J.R: It´s really difficult to me because of the enormous variety and I could stay forever naming unique timepieces.
TWA: What would you tell to someone who is starting in this business?
J.R: The ground to be a good watch maker is to know perfectly all the watches in the market. And along their carrier a constant recycling, increasing their knowledge with the last technology innovations in the world of watches
